Easy, Reliable Video Extension over Single Category Cable Up To 100 Meters with Control, Ethernet and PoE

AMSTERDAM, Feb. 10, 2015 -- Rejuvenating one of its most popular product lines with leading-edge technology, Silicon Valley-based Atlona announced a new generation of HDMI signal extenders for long distance and extended distance transmission, all featuring 4K/UHD capability and HDCP 2.2 copy protection pass-through. The new UHD-EX Series of extenders consists of four pairs of transmitters and receivers, all employing HDBaseT technology, with a range of models that offer increasing levels of features including 70- or 100-meter signal extension of video, multi-channel audio, 48-volt Power over Ethernet, and bidirectional Ethernet, IR, and RS-232, all over a single category cable.

The products, part of the largest launch in Atlona’s history, debuted here today at ISE 2015, Europe’s largest trade expo devoted to commercial and residential AV and electronic systems. Atlona is located in Stand 7-P180.

“Extenders are the products that introduced many dealers to our brand and helped make them loyal customers,” said Ilya Khayn, Atlona president and co-founder. “They are still core products for us and our dealers, who need affordable, reliable solutions that integrate easily and quickly. We waited to bring out this new line so it could be as future-proof as possible with respect to the content, displays, and other components customers are now beginning to use. With the new UHD-EX Series, dealers are getting everything they waited for.”

Khayn said that all extender kits in the new series support 4K/UHD video @60Hz, provide pass-through of HDCP 2.2 content, support EDID communication, and employ HDBaseT technology for extending signals, including multi-channel audio in formats up to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD™ Master Audio. The top-of-the-line AT-UHD-EX-100CE Transmitter/Receiver kit allows cable runs up to 100 meters (328 ft.), utilizes IEEE 802.3af standard 48V Power over Ethernet for receiver power, and provides pass-through of bidirectional Ethernet and control signals. “The UHD-EX-100CE offers the complete HDBaseT signal extension capability updated to the most current industry standards for content quality and protection,” Khayn said. The AT UHD-EX-100CE-RX receiver is available separately to work with other Atlona HDBaseT products.

The AT-UHD-EX-70C Transmitter/Receiver kit provides 70 meters (230 ft.) of signal extension, including pass-through of bidirectional RS-232 and 12V IR control signals. As a transmitter/receiver pair, the kit is designed for use with other Atlona matrix switchers. Atlona offers the AT-UHD-EX-70 Transmitter/Receiver kit for residential or commercial point to point applications. This kit features PoE to remotely power the receiver from the transmitter to save time and integration costs by eliminating the AC power outlet at the receiver.

The AT-UHD-EX70-PS Transmitter/Receiver kit provides an economical means of transmitting AV signals up to 70 meters (230 ft.) while still offering the new advanced video features of the UHD-EX series. Each transmitter and receiver in this kit comes with its own power adapter.

All four kits offer configuration-free set-up and field-updateable firmware, rear-panel I/O ports, and lowprofile enclosures -- 2.5 cm (1 inch) high, one-quarter rack-width -- for easy installation into racks and confined spaces behind displays.

All models in the series will ship in the second quarter of this year.
