Polycom Takes Video Conferencing Market Share Lead in India Based on Latest Frost & Sullivan Report

Latest Frost & Sullivan figures show Polycom holds 50.2% of market in India for Video Conferencing Systems & Infrastructure
 
NEW DELHI, India - Aug 22, 2012 : Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM), the global leader in open standards-based unified communications, announced that the company is leading the video conferencing systems and infrastructure market in India with 50.2% market share in 2011, according to the latest results by Frost & Sullivan Research, a leading growth partnership and consulting company. The results are highlighted in the report "Video Conferencing Endpoints & Infrastructure Market in India CY 2011i".
 
Emerging as a preferred partner for video collaboration systems and infrastructure, Polycom's growth has been ahead of industry growth trends for both segments. According to the report, Polycom showcased a growth of 45% in the video conferencing endpoint market (ahead of the industry growth rate of 35.3%), to capture 50.6% market share. In the video conferencing infrastructure market, Polycom witnessed growth of 57.4% over the last year (compared to industry growth of 53.9%), to capture 48% market share.

The Frost & Sullivan report also estimates that the value of the video conferencing market in India was anticipated at USD$83.2 million accounting for a growth rate of 38.9% in 2011 over the previous year. The industry is likely to sustain a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) 20.1% over the next seven years, attributed to industry trends such as: the changing mindset of enterprises that look at video as a corroborator in their business processes; support of the service provider community in deploying managed video conferencing services; enhanced reach through system integrators; and greater enterprise drive for open standards amongst others. The industry has also seen a significant growth in demand for immersive solutions with high definition versus standard definition adoption at 80:20, highlighting change in user needs for want of advanced technology systems.
 
Polycom was also recently recognized by Frost & Sullivan as Enterprise Video Vendor of the Year in the Asia Pacific region. In addition, Polycom is leading the Chinese market in video conferencing systems with 51.4% market share in 2011.

A graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology, Doug has been in the Technology industry since 1976 and actively oversees Fearing’s daily operations. Along with his wife, Lois, and three others, Doug started Fearing’s in a 600 square-foot facility in Portage, Wisconsin. In the 25 years since, the company has grown to over 30 employees with offices in Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Doug likes to say he’s a “TV Technician with a dream� going back to his history with the family’s original business-Fearing’s TV and Appliance.

Doug values time with family, watersports, hiking, snowshoeing and skiing. In addition to being a devoted member of his church, Doug serves as Board President for Kinship Mentoring of Columbia County, Board member of Schools for Haiti and Scripture Chair of the Gideons-Portage camp.

Lois Fearing- Co-Founder/Accounting, Human Resources

A graduate of MATC, Lois oversees Fearing’s daily book keeping along with various HR responsibilities.

Along with Doug, Lois is deeply connected to community outreach, serving as a Board member and Fundraising Committee Chairperson for Kinship Mentoring of Columbia County. She also serves on the Schools for Haiti Fundraising committee. In addition, Lois’ ongoing passion and commitment to provide care for the elderly comes from her 10-year history of working in a Reedsburg, Wisconsin Nursing home.

Lois enjoys singing, hiking, sunny days on the pontoon, and spending time with her 4 grandchildren.
