Atlona Unveils Lineup of Switchers and Scalers with HDMI and VGA Transmission over HDBaseT™
Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2015
ORLANDO, FL., June 17, 2015 – Atlona, a leading AV connectivity solutions company, today introduced here at InfoComm (booth 1569) two new series of switchers and scalers, the HDVS-150 Series and HDVS-200 Series, which represent a new generation of products designed to expand input capabilities of matrix switchers and provide control in AV systems. The four new HDVS models are part of Atlona’s second major product launch of the year, making 2015 the company’s most ambitious year to date. “All of Atlona’s products are designed to make our integrators’ installations easier and more efficient,” said Bill Schripsema, senior product manager at Atlona. “Our customers expect a high level of reliability and value from our products, so we packed as many of the features they’ve been requesting as possible into these new HDVS models.”

Designed to expand the input capabilities of the company’s UHD-CLSO-824 matrix switcher, the HDVS- 150 series includes the AT-HDVS-150-TX, a three-input HDBaseT switcher, and AT-HDVS-150-TX-WP, a two-input HDBaseT wall plate switcher, that extend cable runs of both 4K/UHD signals @ 60Hz and VGA input signals up to 1920x1200 up to 230 ft. (70m). The HDVS-150 Series also has several highly desired features, including auto-switching, front-panel input selection, auto display control, and front panel display on/off control.

The AT-HDVS-150-TX features two HDMI inputs plus a VGA input with a 3.5 mm audio connector with auto-switching, which feeds to a single HDBaseT output. The AT-HDVS-150-TX-WP features a single HDMI input and one VGA input with auto switching, and a single HDBaseT output that occupies a twogang, US or UK-style wall plate enclosure. Both devices receive power from the AT-UHD-CLSO-824 matrix switcher via Power over Ethernet.

An alternative faceplate, the AT-HDVS-TX-NB is available for the HDVS-150-TX-WP, which eliminates the display, on/off, and input select buttons for installations where control is through a third-party system. The faceplate does not have electronics and easily replaces he original factory faceplate.

The HDVS-200 Series consists of the three-input switcher, AT-HDVS-200-TX, and the Ethernet-enabled HDBaseT scaler, AT-HDVS-200-RX. Together they offer auto switching for HDMI and VGA inputs, projector on/off control, analog audio de-embedding, volume control, and TCP/IP and RS-232 control. The HDVS-200 Series devices are useful as input/output modules in larger systems where switchers such as the AT-UHD-CLSO-824 are being used.

The AT-HDVS-200-TX is a three-input switcher with display control for HDMI and VGA transmission over Ethernet-enabled HDBaseT. Featuring two HDMI inputs and a VGA input with a 3.5 mm audio connector, the switcher extends video signals with embedded audio up to 4K/UHD @60 Hz up to a distance of 328 feet (100 m.). The switcher receives power from the AT-HDVS-200-RX scaler via Power over Ethernet, and together they create a standalone AV switching system for classrooms and huddle rooms.

Atlona’s HDVS-200-RX is a scaler with an Ethernet-enabled HDBaseT input for HDMI transmission. When used with the AT-HDVS-200-TX switcher, it receives IP and HDMI signals with embedded audio and controls signals at distances up to 328 ft. (100 m.).

As with all Atlona products, the HDVS-150 Series and HDVS-200 Series components carry the company’s award-winning 10-year limited warranty. All are expected to ship in the third quarter of this year.
