The 850-sqft dvLED video wall at Blinders Sports Lounge is believed to be the largest on the East Coast (outside a stadium or casino)

Overview
OmShera Holdings, a prominent hospitality group, sought to revolutionize the guest experience at their Blinders Sports Lounge in Charlotte, NC. Their vision: to create an immersive, high-quality AV extravaganza, a destination rivaling the energy and scale of Las Vegas sportsbooks, where guests would be able to enjoy an unparalleled sports-watching experience. To bring this bold concept to life, OmShera enlisted the joint expertise of experiential design specialists, DCBolt Productions, and global AV technology pioneer Peerless-AV®.

Starting discussions in January 2024, OmShera identified Peerless-AV and DCBolt as ideal partners due to its reputation for excellence in creating dvLED installs and its extensive experience working on similar large-scale projects. As former sports partners with Daytona and MiLB, and major supplier to sports stadiums and Sportsbooks across the United States such as Mohegan Sun, Illani, and Agua Caliente, Peerless-AV was the perfect choice to partner with. DCBolt, having worked with some of the most recognized brands in the world, such as Disney, Google, and Nike to provide custom immersive solutions.

The project, initiated in March 2024 and set for completion in time for the March 2025 opening, included a cutting-edge 14K UHD LED video wall, a bespoke speaker system, and an integrated AV solution that would offer the ultimate experience for sports enthusiasts.

The Challenge

The timing for this installation was critical, with the Blinders Sports Lounge scheduled for a soft opening on March 14th, 2025, and a grand opening deadline of March 20th, coinciding with the most-watched NCAA Basketball games and the Masters PGA in Augusta.

The Solution
Peerless-AV and DCBolt recommended a stunning 57” wide custom-built dvLED video wall, precision-engineered to meet the unique design and technical requirements of the space. The video wall, measuring 57’ wide by 22’ high, was mounted using a SEAMLESS Bespoke Floor-to-Wall mounting structure, carefully designed to account for wall load, heat dissipation, and precise tolerances to ensure durability long term.

The dvLED video wall’s pixel pitch of 1.8mm was chosen to optimize viewing from the Lounge area, where patrons would be seated at varying distances. The video wall was designed with a unique 10-degree forward tilt to ensure an optimal viewing experience for guests seated in the lounge booths, which were recessed to further enhance viewing angles.

For Audio, DCBolt engineered a premium 50,000 watt VOID Acoustics sound system to achieve unparalleled audio quality for a sportsbook lounge setting. Nexus 6 arrays and Airten horns are strategically placed around the venue, including DJ booth, to optimize sound dispersion, coverage, and fidelity while multiple Arcline and Venue series subwoofers are hidden to deliver rich, powerful bass. To match the lavish 1920s-inspired vibe, custom 24k gold-plated Cyclone 55s reside above the main bar ensuring crisp, focused sound for the center channel and audience.

The Installation
The installation process, which began in March 2024, was done in stages to ensure each component of the system was integrated seamlessly. The structural design of the dvLED video wall went through several iterations before final approval, with all teams working closely with the general contractor and interior designers to accommodate structural constraints, cooling needs, and guest viewing angles.

As part of the first stage, the dvLED video wall was assembled in December 2024. Meticulous attention was given to fine-tuning its position, ensuring precise alignment on the X, Y and Z axis. By early February 2025, the installation team began stage two, which involved populating the video wall with the 175 1.8mm dvLED cabinets.

With the structural and video wall assembly completed by February 28th, 2025, the installation team proceeded with stage three to check and program the Crestron controllers, ensuring that the content management system (CMS) would allow for easy adjustments to the layout and content of the screens. The final stage and checks were completed on March 10th, 2025, with the audio levels tuned and verified by VOID Acoustics.

The Results
The result of this collaboration is a state-of-the-art sports lounge and entertainment venue that can also be transformed into a high-end night club environment at the push of a button. The combination of the massive 57ft x 22ft dvLED video wall and the tailored audio system has transformed Blinders Sports Lounge into a lavish social destination where guests can experience the super-wide, ultra-high-definition viewing experience of a sportsbook, combined with the live energy of a sports lounge, and the luxurious detailing of a cocktail lounge.

“I’m absolutely thrilled with the final result—it truly brought my vision of a Vegas-themed sports Lounge to life in my hometown of Charlotte,” said Kush Anandani, owner of Blinders Sports Lounge. “The entire team at Peerless-AV and DCBolt demonstrated unparalleled expertise in delivering this complex, large-scale project. The collaboration and precision these teams brought to the table were key to ensuring everything looked fantastic, was completed safely, and is built to stand the test of time. Thanks to their expertise, we now have a truly immersive and elegant environment that offers our guests the best possible sports viewing experience.”

“We really had the best team possible for this project.” said Devin Wambolt, CEO of DCBolt Productions. “The collaborative spirit between Peerless-AV, DCBolt, and Omshera made this project as smooth and enjoyable as possible, and the end result speaks for itself. We pride ourselves on creating one-of-a-kind experiences with every system we build, and Blinders is definitely one-of-a-kind.”

"Blinders Sports Lounge is a sports fan’s dream!” said Megan Zeller, of Peerless-AV. “We worked tirelessly to their hard-stop timescale for the grand opening. It has been an incredible project to be part of and seeing it live, witnessing people’s reactions to the 60’ wide by 15’ high immersive LED screen as they enter and take in the surroundings, is really something. My own reaction was one of complete awe since the entire space is centered around the screen. We’ve worked on countless big projects with DCBolt, but this is unlike any other to date. Through this special, seamless collaboration with DCBolt, we’ve supplied and installed an extra special solution that more than delivers on the Blinders vision.”

The successful completion of the Blinders Sports Lounge project demonstrates the transformative power of cutting-edge AV solutions to elevate the guest experience. By meeting the unique technical and aesthetic demands of the hospitality industry, this project sets a new benchmark for large-scale AV installations in sports lounges, sportsbooks, hotels and casinos, proving that, with the right blend of specialist expertise and creative vision even the most complex challenges can be overcome to create exceptional, immersive experiences for both customers and guests.
