Introduction

Generali is a leading global insurance company providing a comprehensive range of products across life, health, and property insurance for both individuals and businesses. The organization operates with a strong presence in 50 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, serving 70 million customers worldwide.

The challenge

Generali set out to transform their Hong Kong office into a modern, flexible workspace equipped with a seamless, multi-platform video conferencing experience that would work flawlessly for both internal teams and external partners. The company sought to improve operation efficiency, as meeting setups were time-consuming and often disrupted productivity. Generali wanted a trusted partner to deliver an effortless, scalable, and visual appealing AV solution that enhanced functionality and streamlined the user experience.

The solution

Generali decided to use advanced technology from the Crestron ecosystem, chosen for its connectivity, synchronization, and modern design. The Crestron platforms also aligned with Generali’s existing infrastructure, as their meeting rooms already used Crestron control systems.

The technology

Generali’s meeting spaces are powered by the Crestron platform, designed to deliver a smooth and efficient experience for rooms ranging from small 6-person spaces to a large 100-person conference room. Crestron AirMedia® wireless collaboration technology and DM NVX® AV-over-IP solutions work together to improve usability, simplify operations, and integrate smoothly with different room layouts and existing infrastructure. A centralized Crestron touch screen interface makes it easy to manage devices and control all room technologies.

Generali needed a user-friendly solution that would provide broad videoconferencing compatibility to accommodate visitors and guests, many of whom relied on Apple devices. With the Crestron AirMedia® Connect Adaptor, users simply plug the device into their laptop and leverage the in-room peripherals for wireless conferencing and contest sharing. Now, guests can walk into the room and begin a virtual meeting or pull up a presentation to share with in-room participants from their familiar, personal device. Beyond the new capabilities the AirMedia Connect Adaptor brings to these spaces, the solution is also very compact to fit in with the sleek office design.

With the Crestron AirMedia® platform, users can share content instantly from their devices while accessing features like synchronized calendars and customizable welcome screens, which can also serve as marketing tools during events. The platform enables digital signage in meeting spaces without requiring extra equipment, making the most of the room’s functionality.

DM NVX® AV-over-IP technology ensures high-quality image tranmission from the server room to meeting spaces without adding extra in-room hardware. This keeps rooms clutter-free and preserves the aesthetics of the space. The flexibility of the platform also allows for quick adjustments to combined meeting rooms, making layout changes and room reconfigurations simple. The touch screen interface replaces the need for multiple remotes, creating a user-friendly experience. For town hall events, Genearli can have synchronized displays across the office to deliver real-time content, ensuring a cohesive experience.

By leveraging Crestron’s advanced solutions, Generali transformed their meeting spaces into efficient, high-performance, and easy-to-use environments. The advanced integrations and thoughtful design improved operational efficiency, enhanced user satisfaction, and reduced the need for technical support.

The results

By centralizing equipment in the server room and using AV-over-IP technology, the system reduced the need for IT support, cutting personnel costs and streamlining operations. This setup also improved the aesthetics of meeting rooms by minimizing visible equipment, creating a cleaner, more organized space. The system’s flexibility allowed screens and systems to be easily repositioned within conference rooms via simple network node connections. The DM NVX solution enable seamless image and sound transmission over the network, enhancing connectivity. These features not only enhanced the functionality of the meeting spaces but also exceeded the client’s expectations, delivering a “wow-worthy” level of customer satisfaction.
